I heard the following on the radio this morning:
Morning Edition, May 9, 2008 · If stay-at-home moms made a salary, one study estimates that it would be $117,000 — and most of the paycheck would come from overtime.
I’m so thankful to have a husband who not only supports me in staying home with our little boy, but recognizes that staying home is hard work!! A shout out to all of you stay-at-home-moms!!! Keep up the good work!!!

i can honestly say, i think that is a fair salary. while i would like to say, "no we would earn waaaay more", i think that a large majority of the time is having fun with the kids. there are super duper hard and frustrating days, in those cases, i think we should get paid for time and a half. probably for overtime and weekends as well :)
